Customs for Counting the Omer

It is customary not to marry a woman between Passover and Pentecost thus on Lag Ba’Omer because at that time the pupils of Rabbi Akiva died, it is customary not to cut hair until Lag Ba’Omer, because they say that that is when the wars stopped (Rabbi Moses Isseries: and we are allowed a little joy).
